It’s a wrap for the 2023 RVA Underground Spring XCO Race Series! We really appreciate y'all being a part of the fun and bringing the stoke to the season finale'!

Series Champions will be receiving an email with information and links to get their CHAMPION’S JERSEYS. We will also have a version of these available to everyone, without the 2023 CHAMPION branding of course - you have to earn that one!

Get ready to rumble because the Underground Race Series is coming back in 2023 with a vengeance! This will be a 4-race XCO spring series where your best 3 races count towards regional championship status.

Welcome to the RVA Underground race series.

If you want to play bikes and go fast in the woods, this is your jam!

FORMATS, DATES, LOCATIONS, & ADDRESSES

Format: Cross Country Olympic (XCO) format races are a hybrid of Cross Country (XC) and Short Track (XCC). The XCO race will be run on a 3-4 mile course that will run for 60-90 minutes and is very spectator friendly. Racers will go off by category, with one category on the field at a time. Fastest time to complete designated laps wins.

Depending on registration numbers, we may combine or put multiple categories on the field together. Any changes to start times (noted below) will be announced via email to registered racers and newsletter subscribers. We will also post them here on this event site.

- $45 through January 1st
- $50 through March 1st
- $55 up to >15 days before event
- $60 <14 days before event
- On-line registration typically closes 2 days before event
- Walk on/day of: $75 - cash/check or Venmo

* Cash Awards for Men & Women Pro/Elite 3-deep with 6 or more registered - seeded evenly!

Pre-Race Brief: Is MANDATORY and starts 20 minutes before your wave. We take roll call and you will be shown as DNS is you miss roll call – no exceptions!


CATEGORY DISTANCES (~estimated time on field)

  • Pro/Elite & Expert/CAT1 – 5 laps (~70-90 mins)

  • Sport/CAT2 – 3 laps (~65-75 mins)

  • Beginner/CAT3 – 2 laps (~50 mins)

  • Juniors - Varsity – 3 laps (~65-70 mins)

  • Juniors - JV – 2 laps (~50 mins)

  • Juniors - Middle School – 1 lap (~25 mins)


COURSE MAPS:

THE XCO COURSES & DISTANCES: These XCO courses are punchy, fast, and spectator friendly! Racers will be coming through the start/finish perimeter area and be on trails easily accessible for viewing and pictures. So, bring your family and friends to root you on!
